From the beginning, Matter was an ambitious and therefore a beautiful little magazine. It really counts if your work appears in its pages (painfully, I've been turned down and deliriously, have been accepted) ... universities at their best harness the illogical and boundless intensity, hard work and love of those who work and study in English Departments and Creative Writing Programs and from them, can come something like Matter. And ten years of love and good writing. Happy Birthday, Matter.
